KITESURF

Where the local people go to Kitesurfing

ā€‹

The north of the island of Fuerteventura offers ideal conditions for lovers of this exciting water sport. In this complete and detailed guide, I will provide you with information about the beaches and the best spots for kitesurfing in the north of Fuerteventura. What about the South Island kitesurfing conditions? My opinion is defenetly nothing to do. Very gusty winds always , but there is an amazing lagoon , beautiful and perfect to kite. The problem is that only with hight tide it is possible to use this great lagoon, then not always is with enought water , and the more important problem as I said is the very gusty winds for more than 90% of the windy days. I have tried to kite there long a lot of times until i decided dont go more, only if the wind is fro south or east and also if will be hight tide in the same day , then i could think to go because in that moment the lagoon could be the best , but this is only 7 times per year

Flag beach:
Located in the coastal city of Corralejo, Flag Beach is one of the reference points for kitesurfing lovers in the north of Fuerteventura. This beach offers wide expanses of golden sand and crystal clear waters, as well as constant and strong winds. It is ideal for both beginners and more experienced kitesurfers. In addition, the nearby Isla de Lobos, accessible by kite, offers an impressive setting for kitesurfing with unbeatable waves.

Entubadera beach:
Located in the coastal city of Corralejo, in the Natural Park Dunas de Corralejo, after the Flag Beach, this beach is working exactly the same like Flag Beach but here the waves are much better to do kite waves. The beach has golden sand and crystal clear waters, as well as constant and strong winds. If waves are working this beach it is not good for both beginners.

El Burro beach:
Also located in the Natural Park Dunas de Corralejo, this beach is around 4 kilometers after the Flag Beach. When the Flag Beach has wind El Burro beach also has wind . Has the sames condions like Flag and Entubadera, it means that El Burro has golden sand and crystal clear waters also, as well as constant and strong winds. El Burro Beach has to different spots, El Burro is a wave kite spot , only recommended for advanced kiters, and Glass Beach is a flat or choppi water where the kiter needs less experience.

El Cotillo Beach:
Located in the charming fishing village of El Cotillo, Playa de El Cotillo is another popular destination for kitesurfers. This beach has beautiful panoramic views, crystalline waters and favorable winds that create perfect conditions for practicing this sport. The beach is divided into several zones, some more suitable for beginners and others more challenging for experienced riders. In addition, there are kitesurfing schools in the area that offer lessons and equipment rental.

Majanicho Beach:
Located north of Corralejo, Playa de Majanicho is a lesser-known but equally impressive option for kitesurfing. This unspoiled beach offers calm surroundings and crystal clear waters, along with constant winds that provide ideal conditions for kitesurfing. Being less crowded than other beaches, it offers more space and freedom to practice and improve your skills. However, keep in mind that there are no facilities or schools on this beach, so it is best suited for experienced kiteboarders looking for adventure and tranquility.

Piedra Playa Beach:
Located on the west coast of Fuerteventura, Playa de Piedra Playa is a unique place for kitesurfing lovers. With its big waves and strong winds, this beach is especially popular with more experienced riders looking for thrills. However, due to the challenging conditions, it is recommended that only experienced riders practice here. There are no kitesurfing schools on this beach, so it is important to have the right equipment and a good understanding of water safety.
